Festival, pt 1

We went to the first day of the Austin City Limits Music Festival today. We saw David Garza, Liz Phair, Spoon, and Dwight Yoakum. We also passed by Steve Winwood, who has apparently crawled out of a hole somewhere. The Austin Shakespeare Festival was also performing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), which we saw as well. We had a really good time. I bought a cowboy hat to wear.

The parking situation sucks, though, because basically you park downtown and take a shuttle to the park. The line for the shuttles back to the parking was like a mile long tonight. We ended up walking for over 30 minutes until we finally found a cabbie willing to pick us up.

I was so excited to get this news in my inbox tonight. I've only seen them once before, at the Backyard last year, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. So many good shows coming up... next Friday, Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy, and then hopefully Gorky's Zygotic Mynci in Boston in October... B&S in November... how am I going to control myself??
