So this is the New Year!
Did you make it? Did you survive your hangovers? I, luckily, was blessed with no hangover. Maybe blessed isn't the right word, since I had the good sense to stop drinking when I began teetering unsteadily on my four-inch heels. That happened to occur fairly early in the night (we started around 7pm), so all I had afterwards was one glass of champagne at midnight. I feel pretty lucky to have the same boy to kiss that I did last year. That is so atypical of my regular New Year's Eve experience.
We had a really great dinner at Nevie's... roasted stuffed pork, yummy chicken, green beans, and risotto, followed off by a dramatic display of Bananas Foster. The party got a little crazy after that... but probably my most memorable moments were creating some beautiful dual-drum-player music upstairs in the band practice room, talking video games with Victor, Debbie, Aaron, and George, and Wendy's hilarious comments about her future children.
New Year's Day was spent with a traditional snarky breakfast with Ryan and Victor, followed by much Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Party 5. The three of us had dinner with Mark and Kurt, after Victor and I changed a slashed tire on his car. I swear, People of Austin, if you don't stop slashing Mark and Victor's tires, I'm going to do something drastic! We spent a fun evening at Kurt's talking movies and music. We watched a bunch of Victor's Michel Gondry music videos. The evening culminated with Chris threatening Sean with kidnapping, tying to a tree in the desert, and offering a dog corpse for food after two weeks. Nothing sinister here, folks, all in fun... these guys will just go a long way to prove a point. We were rolling with laughter. On the way home, Victor and I chuckled that we should notify the NME about these vicious threats, since both of those boys are in bands that are pretty big in Europe. It would have been the NME scoop of the week!
So, do you have any resolutions? I have tried to not add "losing weight" to mine the last couple of years, but it's back in the game this year! I have some cute dresses that I'm not able to wear right now, so my goal is to fit into them. I'm so pissed at myself for gaining back the weight I lost in India. Other goals: organize my life and pay off my debt. All three of these are entirely reachable.
