The Big D
Greetings from Dallas. It's been a long, crazy trip thus far.

We did end up finishing the moving thing in time to make it to dinner Thursday night. Friday morning, I drove up to Dallas. Kat and Mark were driving up too, because a couple of Kat's films were in the Dallas Video Festival. I followed them up there, and it was a good thing I did... because I had a blow out (and not the Jonathan Antin kind - the kind where your tire explodes on the interstate while going 75 mph). Therefore, I missed the appointment to set up my high speed internet, which still is not set up (I've rigged a scary dial-up connection). Victor showed up around 4pm, and we were ready to receive our huge shipment of stuff. However, the movers called at 5pm to let us know they weren't getting there until Saturday, instead of the Friday afternoon they promised us. Arrrgh!

Long story short, we did finally get our stuff on Saturday, manouvering around the homeless people and various tenants moving in and out. We were able to unpack about a fourth of the stuff before Victor left on Sunday. I've been spending the week unpacking the rest. I'm still not done. We did get our new TV and digital cable yesterday, so I've been slacking off watching marathons of I Love the 90's today. Oh, we also saw Anchorman on Saturday with Mark and Kat. It took a while to grow on me, but I ended up loving it.

Oooh, the other new development is that I finally got a cell phone! I haven't had one for the last 2 1/2 years (the entire time I lived in Austin), so it was nice to get one again. Thank you, Victor, for adding a line for me!
