Dancing like a beautiful dancewhore
Franz Ferdinand last night were great. I was pleasantly surprised, since I'm not a huge fan of their album. They are definitely better live. I had the same experience with Sleater-Kinney... didn't like them until I saw them. Anyway, the Gypsy Tea Room is a great venue... if you're close to the stage. We were not, and the stage is so low that it's hard to see if you're more than ten or fifteen feet back. I'm 5'6", which is not that short, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been for shorter people in the crowd. The crowd itself was really hard to figure out... not as many hipsters as I would have imagined. There were middle-aged people, frat boys, and plenty of people who seemed pretty clueless. That was strange, because the show was sold out in advance. I guess that's what being on MTV can do for you.
By the way, the picture here is the only semi-decent picture from the night. We are going to have to start taking Victor's camera to shows. It's heavier, but the flash is way better.
