State Fair Shopping List
Last night Victor and I went to the Texas State Fair for the third year in a row. We don't go for the rides. We really don't go for the animals or car show (although seeing both of those can be fun). We certainly don't go for the carnies on the midway.

We go for the food. The Texas State Fair is famous as the birthplace of corn dogs, or, more accurately, corny dogs. Lately, the trend has been "fry everything in sight," with a new, more preposterous fried delicacy each year. So Victor and I go to check out the food and forget about calories, diets, congenital heart disease... Anyway, here is our checklist:

Sausage on a stick? Check.

Corny dogs? Check.

Roasted corn? Check.

Fried Twinkie? Check.

Fried marshmallow? Check.

Fried Coke? Check.

Yes, I said fried Coke. It has been in the news a lot this year. Seems like it was a food contest finalist as seen in this year's state fair new food list. You know, looking over that list, I'm half tempted to go back and find the rest of the new food. Deep fried mac and cheese? Deep fried avacados? I'm so there.
