Things to see and do
So, here's some of what's been going on with me over the past three or so months. Each little vignette will have its own flickr set! What fun!
We saw Sufjan Stevens at the Lakewood Theater back in September. It was a fantastic show, with lots of costumes, instruments, and clapping. He played most of my favorite songs and a couple of new ones. He even played the song about Arkansas! He is really good live, and I feel as if my crush on him increased threefold. I wanted to take him home in my pocket. Click here to see the rest of the pictures. Not all of the pictures are this blurry; I just happen to really like this one. Victor took some short videos with our phone, too, and they turned out really well. I'll figure out how to put them on YouTube so that I can share them. Technology!
Another show we saw was Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins. They played in Fort Worth at the Ridglea Theater. Man, Fort Worth is far away when you're dead tired and returning from a concert! Jenny really, really impressed me with her singing. I don't usually care for girl voices, but I like hers a lot. Victor was impressed with how cute she was... I don't think he realized the scope of it until that night. Jenny and the Watson Twins started out in cute black dresses, and then there was a costume change to the sparkly numbers in the pictures. We weren't supposed to take pictures, but we did sneak a few right at the end of the show. Click here to see the rest of them.
More recently, we spent the weekend in Chicago. It was the weekend of Halloween (well, technically the weekend before Halloween since it was on a Tuesday this year), so there was a party to attend. Victor and I went, rather unsuccessfully I'm afraid, as telenovela actors. Neal, Julie, Kelly, and Owens went as the Golden Girls. Kris was Jeffrey from "Project Runway" and had good competition from more friends of ours also dressed as "Project Runway" characters. Jeremy L. went as Death. It was freezing (well, to me and Victor anyway), but we had a good time. Click here for the rest of the pictures.
As I add more things to flickr, I'll try to remember to post here about them as well.
